Shareholder Elizabeth Garcia Installed as President of Burlington County Bar Association

Parker McCay shareholder, Elizabeth Garcia will be installed this evening as the next president of the Burlington County Bar Association.  Garcia has been active in the association for many years and most recently served as the president-elect. She is also a past president of the Burlington County Bar Foundation.

“I am pleased and proud to serve as the next bar association president. It is my goal to devote my tenure to developing activities and initiatives that will encourage more diversity and inclusiveness in the profession and within the association,” she said, noting that the legal profession needs significant improvement in this area.

Garcia is supportive of non-profits in her community.  She currently holds the position of Vice Chair for the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors.   She is a former recipient of the Burlington County Bar Association’s prestigious Robert W. Criscuolo Award for her service and commitment to the association and the community.  She was named to the “Best Attorneys in Business 2015” list by South Jersey Biz in Employment and Labor Law, and in 2014, Liz was recognized as one of 25 “Women to Watch 2014” in South Jersey Biz Magazine’s annual profile for her outstanding community leadership. The New Jersey Law Journal also recognized her as one of 50 “New Leaders of the Bar” in 2013 for her charitable contributions and professional accomplishments.

Garcia earned her law degree at Temple University School of Law.  She works with both private and public sector employers on a wide variety of issues arising under federal and state employment laws such as anti-discrimination laws, “whistleblower” laws, family leave acts, Fair Labor Standards Act, American with Disabilities Act, National Labor Relations Act, Public Employer-Employee Relations Act, and many others.  She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the New Jersey Institute of local Government Attorneys.
