SNJDC Economic Development Seminar

September 18, 2018  |  8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Rowan College at Gloucester County, Business and Corporate Center, 1400 Tanyard Road, Sewell, NJ 08080

Shareholder Jeff Winitsky will speak on how recent legislation, on both the State and Federal levels, has provided new and innovative tools to help incentivize developers and investors to undertake, finance, and invest in development projects in New Jersey. In particular, recent legislative changes to the New Jersey Economic Opportunity Act, the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and newly added provisions to the Public-Private Partnership statutes in New Jersey have created several new financing and investment tools that should be considered when undertaking development projects in New Jersey, including within the recently created "Qualified Opportunity Zones." These programs include innovative financing tools to help capture the benefits of Economic Redevelopment Growth Grants through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the utilization of Public-Private Partnership financing structures, and the deployment of investment capital for new projects in designated opportunity zones.
