Shareholder Brett E.J. Gorman is being installed as the president of the Burlington County Bar Association (BCBA) at the installation of officers dinner in Mount Holly, New Jersey tonight.
Gorman has been an active member the BCBA for many years, serving as a trustee or as an officer since 2015. He most recently served as the president-elect, and in 2015, he received the association’s prestigious Robert W. Criscuolo Award, presented annually to a young attorney committed to the legal profession and the community. As the association’s chair of the Burlington County Mock Trial Program (2013-present), Gorman encourages and mentors high school students interested in a career in law by coordinating the competition each year.
“I am proud to serve as the next bar association president. I will focus my attention on the social aspects of the Bar Association to create more cohesion and collegiality amongst the Burlington County attorneys,” he said. “At its core, the Bar Association is a tool to bring the bench and bar together to meet the collegial ideals set forth in the Rules of Professional Conduct. With the ending of the pandemic, we have a unique opportunity to reimagine that purpose. Through collaboration with various members of the Association, we will offer both unique and long forgotten events and initiatives that will benefit all members and the Bar Association as a whole. I look forward to working with everyone to meet this goal.”
Mr. Gorman is an experienced attorney and litigator with the firm’s Public Schools and Education Department. He received his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 2009 and his Bachelor of Arts in history from Rutgers University in 2006. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as the county bar associations of Camden and Cape May.
