Gene R. Mariano

Chief Operating Officer & Deputy Managing Shareholder, Chairperson, Creditors' Rights Department

Overview

For approximately the last 15 years, Mr. Mariano has managed the day-to-day operations of the Creditors’ Rights Department, one of Parker McCay’s largest and most active departments. He is also an experienced, strategic litigator. Mr. Mariano  personally handles all of the firm’s contested foreclosure actions in New Jersey (both commercial and residential). Mr. Mariano currently represents mortgage loan servicers, banks and private lenders.

Mr. Mariano also has extensive experience handling complex business and construction matters, and recently played a major role in litigation involving a decommissioned nuclear plant.     

From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Mariano held a management position at a major bank in Philadelphia. He has been with Parker McCay since his graduation from law school in 1996, and has served on Parker McCay’s Executive Committee for over 11 years.

Mr. Mariano lives in Haddonfield, New Jersey, with his wife, Kathy. He has 3 adult children. Mr. Mariano is a third generation attorney. Both his father and grandfather were New Jersey Superior Court Judges (Camden County).

  • Participated in several large-scale arbitrations and mediations through the American Arbitration Association and FINRA (formerly the National Association of Stock Broker Dealers).
  • Tried jury and non-jury matters in the New Jersey Superior Court.
  • Appeared before the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.
  • Appeared before the New Jersey Supreme Court.
  • Successfully argued a case involving New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act that was approved for publication by the New Jersey Supreme Court: Martin E. O’Boyle v. Borough of Longport, 426.N.J. Super. 1 (App. Div. 2012); affirmed, 218 N.J. 168 (2014).
