Shareholder Elizabeth Garcia Appointed to Gloucester County Chamber Executive Board

Parker McCay shareholder, Elizabeth M. Garcia, was appointed Vice Chair of the Executive Board of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Garcia is  chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Department. She has represented New Jersey public and private entities for more than a decade.

Ms. Garcia focuses her practice on the employer-employee relationship. She counsels employers on a wide variety of employment issues arising under federal and state anti-discrimination laws, “whistleblower” laws, family and medical leave statutes, Americans With Disabilities Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. She has settled and prosecuted matters such as unfair labor practices, sexual harassment complaints, race discrimination complaints, age discrimination complaints, political affiliation complaints, gender and pregnancy discrimination complaints and whistle blower complaints.

Ms. Garcia assists her small and medium business clients in remaining compliant with the changing federal and state law relating to compensation and benefits, workplace safety, management rights, pension, disability. She counsels clients to avoid litigation, and has a vast amount of experience in drafting employee manuals and performing training programs to help insulate clients from legal exposure.

Ms. Garcia has been a board member of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce since 2012. She is the president-elect of the Burlington County Bar Association and past president of the Burlington County Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys and New Jersey State Bar Association.
