Discipline and Special Education Students: How to Discipline a Student with an IEP

May 13, 2019  |  9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The Conference Center at Mercer

Attorneys Brett Gorman and Bill Morlok of Parker McCay’s Public Schools and Education department will be presenting, “Discipline and Special Education Students: How to Discipline a Student with an IEP,” at the New Jersey School Boards Association Special Education Symposium.  They will be joined by Ms. Micki Crisafulli, Director of Special Services, Princeton School District.  Session Description:  Disciplining a student eligible for special education requires analyzing more than just the code of conduct.  Directors must navigate both procedural and substantive issues and, of course, must manage the school disciplinarians.  Not least of all, the Director must ensure the student is treated appropriately.  This presentation analyzes every issue a Director should consider when disciplining a student eligible for special education.
