  2. In part two of this session, learn how to stay compliant with employment laws that are new, have been updated, or may be less known. Employment laws change fast... we will help small business owners keep up and avoid costly litigation. Employment attorneys Susan Hodges and Amy Guerin will present.

Amy and Susan will provide small business owners with the basics for providing a positive work environment for employees and avoiding costly litigation. They will discuss the policies (or temporary policies) that should be reviewed and updated post-COVID. They will talk through many of the new or updated laws – federal and state – and make sure small business owners gain a foundational knowledge of how to create and maintain compliant workplace policies. They will discuss employee handbooks, critical employment policies, hiring and firing practices, compensation and benefits, and leave laws.
